Rooted in India's Living craft traditions
"We believe a craft remains alive only when people choose to keep it alive together.
Each Ori Artisan piece carries the weight of this effort, to ensure these traditions evolve with modern relevance."
Ori Artisan is a Singapore-based textile studio working at the intersection of heritage craft and contemporary design. Our collections are developed through research into historic Indian textiles and translated into limited-edition textile objects using traditional dyeing and printing techniques.
Developed in collaboration with master artisan Brij Ballabh Udaiwal, a Presidential Awardee from Sanganer, each piece carries forward generations of traditional knowledge.
Ori Artisan is supported by RangRakha Center for Living Heritage Crafts, a craft knowledge and collaboration platform dedicated to the documentation, revival, and innovation of the Geographical Indication (GI) tagged craft of Sanganeri Hand-block printing.

What defines ORI Artisan
CRAFT PROCESS: Natural Dye Systems
Textiles at Ori Artisan are created through a slow, layered process of hand block printing and natural dyeing. From start to finish, each piece can take two to three weeks to complete depending on the complexity of design. Discover the process here behind the making of our textiles.
TRACEABILITY
All are textiles carry a story of origin, process, and maker, grounded in authentic, GI-linked craft practices. From fabric to finished product, every ORI Collectible piece is traceable and comes with a unique QR Code. Find the code on the tag and scan it to discover the Artisan, the process and stories behind the making of that piece.
OUR FABRICS : Natural fibers. Responsibly sourced.
Handspun and handwoven cotton is created entirely by hand, from spinning the yarn to weaving the fabric on a loom. The process results in a soft, breathable textile with subtle irregularities that reflect the human hand.
Kala cotton is an indigenous, rain-fed cotton variety grown in the Kutch region of India. It is naturally resilient and requires minimal water and no chemical inputs. The fabric is strong, breathable, and has a slightly coarse, earthy texture that softens

Bamboo fabric is made from plant-based fibres derived from bamboo. It is known for its softness, lightness, and breathability. The fabric drapes well and feels smooth against the skin, making it suitable for comfortable, everyday wear.
Banana Fabric is made from fibres extracted from the stem of the banana plant, a by-product of agriculture. The fibre is strong yet lightweight, with a natural sheen and texture & softness.
